What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a process of personal growth leading to potential change in self-awareness, self-confidence, communication, and relationships.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) I will not provide direct advice for these issues but will work alongside you to help explore options and resolve inner conflicts, allowing you to arrive at your own insights, and path to wellbeing.
Psychotherapy is not simply going for a walk or having a coffee with a friend who listens. This is not coaching. I don’t prescribe medication. Psychotherapy is an open space that provides an opportunity for you to express your thoughts, emotions, tune into your physical body sensations, and understand your behaviours in a process called 'talk therapy.'

Psychotherapy can help better understand the root causes of an issue, while also helping to identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviours contributing to these issues.

What is the length of the therapy process?
The length of the therapy process will uniquely depend on your specific needs. Once you feel your goals have been achieved and you feel in a better state, this is a good indication that we can end the therapy process. As a client, you can choose to end your therapy sessions at anytime you wish.
Is Psychotherapy Covered by OHIP?
Unfortunately, OHIP does not cover psychotherapy. However, some private insurance companies do offer psychotherapy coverage. Please contact your insurance provider for more information.
